Pitching the fleet at Pepperdine's Waves Innovation Summit
Pepperdine University’s Waves Innovation Summit brought more than 400 people together on March 28 to talk through innovation, AI ethics and business strategy. The afternoon session ran Shark Tank casting calls, and co-founder and CEO Gabriel Klein took the system in front of the show’s representatives.
Pepperdine’s newsroom described the pitch as AI-driven fire detection, built, in Klein’s account, “to save local homes and lives” against California’s growing wildfire crisis.
A note on the name: the coverage predates our rename and refers to the company as AdAstra Defense, which is what the program ran under until September 2026. Same team, same fleet, same problem.
